Ahamo Beginners night – 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month (closed to members not shooting as beginners).

Tentative Tournaments for 2012 Discussed tentative tournament dates for 2012.Tentative dates will be discussed with the management of Two Rivers and planned ahead of time do the Wildlife Management Area can be reserved for the outdoor shoots.Dates are arranged around the tournament dates from this year.Holidays were avoided.Setup at Two Rivers should be fairly easy as the terrain is flat and road access is available.Ahamo will be meeting with the other clubs to finalize these shooting dates. The possibility of not having turkey shoots this upcoming year was discussed as they were not very successful this past year.
The following tentative dates were proposed. If members have suggestions, please bring them to the monthly meeting.
January 15 – First indoor shoot Feb 19 – Indoor 3D shoot March – Wahoo shoot April 15 – First outdoor shoot May 20 – Outdoor shoot between Mother’s Day and Memorial Day weekends June – Likely no Ahamo club shoot this month.Ahamo might be involved in the N100 with three other clubs. July 29 – Indoor 3D shoot August 19 – Indoor 3D
Deer Awards Deer awards will be given this year as they were last year at the Annual Banquet in January.Contact Lee Pereksta at (402)592-3856 if you have shot a buck or doe this year.Lee will score the bucks and an award will be presented at the Annual Banquet.Only club members are eligible for deer awards.
Two Rivers Grant Request Two Rivers has grants available.Ahamo needs someone to write a grant to access this money for the development of the outdoor range. This money will go toward supplies for target construction and possible storage and the Two Rivers outdoor range. The goal is to have one target for this year. The Ahamo club will need to supply the labor to construct the targets.Schramm Park is the general model for the final range. Two Rivers will take care of maintenance like mowing.
Cross Bow Question Cross bows are becoming very popular and the club has been contacted about the possibility of cross bow use.A member asked if there is a possibility to use cross bows at the indoor range now that we have Spiderweb targets.Ahamo is not interested in allowing cross bows due to maintenance and safety issues.Insurance issues will need to be investigated.
Officer Elections for 2012 If anyone is interested in running for officer positions, please contact a current board member.Nominations are open for offices. The election committee is Lee and Jennifer; email them if you are interested.President, Secretary, and a possible Sergeant in Arms (might need to take out of constitution) are known open positions.Sergeant in Arms will likely be eliminated as a position if no one is interested this year. The Sergeant in Arms maintains order at meetings and the position is not ‘paid’ with a free membership.Members at the September meeting were interested in eliminating this position. It will be eliminated from the constitution. Please try to talk Bart into accepting the President position again for next year.
N100 The Ahamo club may not be involved in the N100 shoot this upcoming year.Bart ended up doing the lion’s share of the work for the club this year. However, the shoot is supposed to be closer to Omaha this upcoming year.
Trial ‘Spiderweb’ Target Randy and Jeremy have constructed a trial target as a cheaper alternative to the Spiderweb target.Club members will test this target and we will vote later on if the club constructed target is preferable to the commercial Spiderweb targets.
FaceBook Page If you are interest in becoming a friend of the Ahamo archery group, you will need to set up a free FaceBook account and search for the Ahamo site.
