The last indoor leagues were a money format league with a payback for every point won. It seemed to go very well, with everyone winning close to the same amount. The top 3 winners were:
1. Robby Valeika and Rich Stone. 2. Ed Rebarich and Steve Murphy 3. Bill Rhoades
Hunting season news
I’ve received information on some of our club members harvesting game. Congratulations to all of our successful hunters. I also received a note from Roy Canterbury on his deer...
Roy Canterbury: On the first day out Sept 18, I shot a doe at 7am. This was one of the lower Platte Special Antlerless tags that G&P issued. I have one other Special and one normal archery and one rifle this year, hope to get 4. 1 down 3 to go.
I asked Bob Hacker about his elk.. sounded like a large one, at over 700 lbs...
All of the successful hunters are listed below.
Roy Canterbury Doe (special anterless) Bob Hacker Elk - Bull Bob Hacker 3x3 Rich Chandler Buck Bill Lewis 4x4 Robby Valeika 4x4 Dick Sousa 5x5If anyone in the club harvests game, please let me know. All club members that harvest a deer receive a nice plaque for the first deer shot while a member, and a plate for the plaque for any additional deer shot in the years that follow.
As of yet, no one has had a rack for me to measure. I do expect some at the December meeting. Please bring your 1999 rack down to be measured and to enter in the club big buck contest. (This doesn’t include your elk Bob - I don’t know how to measure it.)
My season is still going slow. I’ve seen a couple of nice bucks, but the only one close enough to shootwas a fork horn that was still a little small. With Rifle season here this next week-end I suspect that doe season is here for me this year.
3D News:
Come on down for the 3D shoot on November 14th. We will be setting up on Saturday the 13th at 6:00 PM. Registration starts at 8:00 AM on the 14th.
Target News:
We have an indoor 300 shoot on November 21st. It will be a continuous line starting at 8:00 AM. Shooters can start whenever there is an opening on the line, with registration ending at 11:00. It will be a Turkey shoot, with birds given as prizes. Come on down and shoot - it should be fun.
Note that dessert type items will be more than welcome. Bring something down when you come to shoot or watch.
Club Roster
I am mailing the newsletter to all members this month so everyone can have a copy of the club roster. Note that I will not be putting the roster on our Web Site. I’d rather not share our members names, phone numbers, and Email addresses with the world.
When you receive the roster, please check your name, address, phone number, and Email address on the list. If anything is incorrect please let me know (Call me at 592-3856 or Email me at Hunterlee@msn.com). Please send me your Email address if I do not have it.
Currently 12 of our members have elected to receive the newsletter by Email only. That is a savings of about $75.00 per year for the Club. Thank you to those that receive the newsletter that way. If anyone else would like to get on the Email only list - send me a note (hunterlee@msn.com).
December Fun Shoot
We will be holding a fun shoot in December. This will be an open night for members to shoot for prizes and to share food and fellowship. Watch for information after the next club meeting.
2000 Shoot Schedule
Ahamo Outdoor 3D shoots are planned for April 9, May 21, June 25, and July 29,30. Indoor shoots will be set after the Presidents/Secretaries meeting on November 19. In addition, the Cabela's shoot is being planned for August 4,5,6 this year; and the Winter Games will be held in February.
Inter-Club Shots
Bill Arledge discussed holding shoots between Clubs with the Golden Arrow, Potawattame, and Robinhood clubs. A tentative date of November 19th has been set for the first shoot. The plan is to make it a fun format with several members shooting, and drawing for the scores to use to make teams of 4 from each club. The shoots would be sponsored by each club and at the end of several weeks of shooting the loosing team(s) would treat the winners to some type of pot luck dinner.
