July 10 Club Meeting
Club Meeting Highlights
The July meeting was a short one. It started at 7:00 and was over at about 7:30; there were 12 members present. We discussed the next 3D and the upcoming Cabala's shoot. Dave Wise won the incentive drawing for $8.
New Members
There was one new member voted in at the meeting. Tom Riddle is our newest member. Welcome to the Ahamo Archery Club.
Next Outdoor 3D
There is only one Outdoor 3D remaining for the Ahamo Archery Club this year. It is officially the responsibility of team 2 - however, if you have not yet met your commitment for the year - come on out and help at this one. The shoot is a 2 day shoot and we will need all the help we can get. The shoot is scheduled for July 29 and 30. The workparty to set up for that shoot will be on Friday July 28th starting at 5:00 PM. If you can’t make it out by 5, still plan on coming out whenever you can.
Please contact John Terfone if you can help with food, and Mike Vandeman if you would like to help with Registration. We could use some baked goods on Saturday and Sunday, and help will be definitely needed to bring in the targets at the end of the shoot. Come out at about 2:00 on Sunday to help with tear down.
Next Newsletter
There may not be a newsletter in August. Club news has been kind of slim lately, and your newsletter editor will be on vacation just prior to the next meeting.
Newsletter Items
If you are a club member and have an item for sale, please send me the information and I’ll put it in the newsletter. I also welcome newsletter articles. My Email address is:

Outdoor American Round League
We’re still shooting the American round league at Mike Stanner’s house on Tuesday Nights. Now that the Cornhusker Games are over, we will only be shooting for a couple of more weeks - so call Mike before you come out to be sure we are still shooting. Mike’s address is: 11222 Kentucky Road in Papillion. His phone is 592-3308.
Sportsmen’s Quest Shoot
See the end of the newsletter for detailed information on the Sportsmen’s Quest. This is a very large shoot with a potential of bringing in more than a thousand out of state shooters. Bill Lewis is coordinating the shoot and is soliciting help from multiple clubs. The profits from the shoot are to be split up between the people helping, to in turn be used to support their clubs. Ahamo members received almost two thousand dollars last year. Please review the flyer and contact Bill if you can help. Set up will be on August 2 and 3, and the shoot will be on August 4, 5, 6. The more people we can get from our club to help, the more we will benefit. It is also an opportunity to see some of the top shooters in the Country.
We need people to help set up, and also to man tables during the shoot. Those manning the tables will only need to sit and hand out cards to archers that have already registered. On Sunday we will also need help taking down the range. If you are a club member and would like to help your club and also promote archery in our state, please volunteer to help. Read the flyer on page 3 and contact Bill Lewis.
Hunting Season is Approaching
Note that hunting season is less than 2 months away. Hunters should be tuning equipment, practicing, checking and sharpening broadheads, buying that equipment you’ve been putting off buying till now, doing a little scouting and thinking about purchasing your license. Don’t forget that there are a number of bonus areas in the state this year where you can purchase additional permits.
Remember to hunt ethically and also to take responsible shoots.

Below are the current Work Party teams. Note the team you are on and be sure to help out at the shoots your team is responsible for.
