1997 Member Commitments
The commitments for 1997 are now 12 hours of workparties and 3 club meetings.
Be sure to sign in at all workparties and record the hours you worked.
Membership applications will be modified shortly, to reflect the new
commitment requirements for the working membership.

3D Committee news
The 3D committee has been making plans for 1997 3D shoots. Planned shoots
through March are as follows:
        Jan 18,19
Feb 8, 9 (State Winter Games)
        Feb 22,23
        Mar 8,9
        Mar 22,23

Workparties will be held on the Friday before each shoot at 7:00 P.M. and
Sunday at about 3:30 when the shoots are finished.

For the Jan 18, 19 shoot the 3D committee will be trying something a little
different for children. The first line will be at 12:00 on Saturday and will
be for children only. The distances will be shorter and will allow younger
children a better chance to shoot and hit the targets. The Adult lines will be
at 2:00, 4:00, 6:00 and 8:00 on Saturday and 8:00, 10:00, 12:00 and 2:00 on
Sunday. Each line will handle 20 shooters. If you have any questions or want
to register for a shooting line, call Roy Canterbury at 592-1398, or Bill
Lewis at 498-9364.

State Winter Games
The State Winter Games will have three Archery events; a target shoot at Woods
and Waters, a Dart tournament at Full Draw, and an indoor 3D tournament at
Ahamo. Bill Rhoades is coordinating the 3D part of the winter games and has
'drafted' several members to help, as well as the 3D committee.

Advanced registration is required to participate in the Winter Games. Bill
Rhoades will be receiving some registration booklets and will leave them at
the indoor range as soon as he gets them. If you have not mailed in your
registration by January 22, you will not be allowed to shoot in the games.

Included for your registration fees will be a T Shirt, an invitation to the
opening ceremonies at Aksarben, and the athletes party.

1996 Big Buck Contest
There were three entries in the 1996 Big Buck contest. Gary Brunberg won with
a rack that measured 129 3/8 and received a nice plaque - Congratulations
Gary.

Other Awards
Several members received certificates at the banquet for outstanding service
to the club in 1996. There were too many to accurately list them all, so I can
only say thank you to all members that received a service award.

Work Party Drawing
All members attending workparties in 1996, had their names put in a drawing
for each workparty they attended. The winners of the $30 awards (to pay for
their deer license in 1997), were Steve Murphy, Bill Rhoades, Dick Glaseman,
Rich Chandler, and Rob Humm.

1996 3D Committee Thanks
Special Plaques were given to the three members that ran the 1996 3D
committee; Bill Lewis, Dennis Duckert, and Santos Castaneda. Thank you all for
a job well done, and a special thanks to all members that helped with our 3D
shoots throughout the year.
