January Club Meeting
The January meeting was our annual banquet. About 30 members attended and all had a good time. Anthony’s served delicious meals (especially the steaks), and awards were given out to many deserving members. We elected one new officer, voted in three new members, and the new year got off to a great start for our club.
New Members
There were three new members voted in at the club meeting, Kipp Keller, Kerry Keller, and Robert Huckeby. Welcome to the Ahamo Archery Club.
Club Officers for 2002
All 2001 officers remained if office for 2002 except for Mike Vandeman. Mike gave up his position as Sargent at Arms and took over the office of 3D coordinator. Greg Thomas was elected as Sargent at Arms for 2002. All of the officers are to be thanked for their support of the club in 2001 and for continuing that support through 2002.
Final Hunting season News
Our final list of successful hunters is below.

2001 Club Awards
There were several awards given out at our annual Banquet. The Board identified people that provided outstanding service to Ahamo during 2001, and there were drawings for money based on the number of hours of workparty support members provided in 2001.
Work Party Drawing
Members that helped at workparties in 2001 had their names put into a drawing for $30.00 cash awards. The number of times a name was added to the drawing was based on the number of hours of support provided.
Winners of the work party awards were: Ed Rebarich Mike Vandeman John Terfone Lee Pereksta Chuck VincentWives Awards
Gift Certificates were given to Wives of members, that provided outstanding support of our club in 2001. These wives helped with registration at shoots and also worked cooking and selling food during our shoots. Wives receiving this award were: Sherry Terfone Sherry Chandler Shellie Vandeman Mary Lou PerekstaOutstanding Member for 2001
This award is voted on by the board, for the member (or members) that provided the most outstanding support of the club during the year. The winner of this award has their name engraved on a Plaque that is on permanent display at the indoor range.
This year, the Board selected the Jim Chandler Family to receive this award. Collectively they provided more hours of support during workparites than any other family in the club. This award was much deserved. Thanks go out to Jim, Sherry, Crystal, and Samantha for their support throughout the year.
Outstanding Support Certificate
Certificates were given to members that provided significant support of Ahamo throughout the year.
Club members receiving certificates included: Dick Glaseman Tom Riddle Dave Wise Bill Rhoades Chuck Vincent Ed Rebarich Mike Vandeman Lee Pereksta John Terfone Dave Holthouse Dick Sousa Rich ChandlerLife Member Award
When the Board feels that a member unselfishly supports the club year after year - giving much more than he or she receives from the club; a Life Member Award is given. This is not an award given out every year.
This year, the Board decided that one of our members was very much deserving of the Life Member Award. Dick Glaseman has changed the locks at our indoor range and made all of our keys for as many years as we have been at the indoor range. He also supports at workparties and attends most of our shoots. Dick only accasionally uses our indoor range - so all of his support throughout the years is because of his love of the sport and his commitment to the Ahamo Archery Club. Dick is very deserving of this award, and is to be congratulated on receiving it. Thank you Dick, for your support of the Ahamo Archery Club.
Dues are Due:
If you have not paid your dues for 2002, you do not have a key that works. The lock at the indoor range has been changed and you need to pay your dues to receive a new one. Dues become Delinquent as of the March club meeting, and members not paying their dues by then will no longer receive the newsletter, and will also be required to pay the $10.00 initiation fee if they rejoin.
Note also that our dues are pro-rated the year you join, so that in the year you join you only pay dues to the end of the year. In January, you then need to pay a full year’s dues. If you join anytime the following year, you must pay a full year’s dues, even if you join later in the year.
If you have any questions on dues, please contact Dave Holthouse.
Newsletter Items
If you are a club member and have an item for sale, please send me the information and I’ll put it in the newsletter. I also welcome newsletter articles.

2002 Newsletters
As of this Newsletter, all members with Email Addresses will only receive the Email version of the newsletter. If you have an Email address and have a legitimate reason to receive a mailed version of the newsletter, please let me know. The content is the same in both newsletters - and the Email version (which is actually a pointer to our Web Newsletter), will give you the opportunity to check out our archive of all past newsletters that are stored on the web.
Please contact me if you have any questions on this, or if you have a valid reason to receive the printed newsletter. Since postage is going up again in June, this is an opportune time to reduce the amount of mail we send.
Deer Stories from our members
I’m not going to bore you with another deer story in this newsletter. I’ve got enough of them though, that I could put one in each newsletter for years to come. If anyone has a desire to be an author - please write down your hunting story and give it to me so I can print it in a future newsletter.
