February Club Meeting
The February meeting was attended by 17 members. We discussed the Winter Games, upcoming shoots, and club finances. Jack White won the incentive drawing for $17.00.
New Members
There were two new members voted in at the club meeting. Dave Horvath and Steve Kreigler are our newest club members. Welcome to the Ahamo Archery Club.
Winter Games
The Winter Games went very well. we had 120 3D shooters and all seemed to have a good time. Our Club President, Jim Chandler thanked everyone that helped and said all the comments he heard about the shoot were good.
Later in the newsletter there is a list of all winners from the Target and Video competition, and all of the scores from the 3D that was shot at Ahamo.
Updates to Club Documents
Dave Wise is reviewing the club information forms and club membership application for needed changes. Those documents haven’t been updated for several years now and are probably a little outdated.
Congratulations
to Bill and Angela Lewis
Bill and Angela are the proud parents of a new son. William Henry Lewis was born February 9th at 12:30 in the morning. Vital statistics include a length of 20 1/2 inches and weight of 7 pounds 5 ounces. Many congratulations to Bill and Angie for the birth of a new hunting buddy for Bill.
3D News
Note that the next indoor 3D shoot is in March. Jot the date down now, as there will not be another newsletter before the shoot. Set-up will be on March 10 at 2:00 PM.
Something new to note, we will be opening the range up at 6:00 PM for those that want to shoot a day early. I hope a lot of members show up on Saturday night to shoot - it could be a lot of fun.
The March 11 (Sunday) times include Registration from 8:00 to 12:00 and clean-up at about 1:00. Please come out to shoot, even if you will not be able to help with clean-up. It would be nice if more of our club members would come out to shoot in our tournaments. 3D shoots are a lot of fun, especially the indoor ones.
As a final note: thanks go out to John Terfone for volunteering to help with food at our 3D shoots again this year. If anyone would like to help John, just let him know. I’m sure he wouldn’t mind help from other members.
Club Championship
For the last few years, we have been holding a club Championship shoot at the end of our Indoor league season. When the current Tuesday night league ends we will be holding that shoot again. Watch for news in the next newsletter.
The Championship shoot is to name the adult champions in release and fingers only - for both men and women. If you want a chance to add your name to the Championship plaque that is now on the wall of our indoor range be sure to participate. The shoot consists of one indoor 300 round. Watch for more information in the next newsletter.
May 5-6 Neola shoot
At the February club meeting, we discussed the upcoming Neola Shoot planned for May 5 and 6. The shoot is a benefit shoot with part of the profits to be donated to the park the shoot is held in, and other parts to a cause or causes that have not yet been determined. Clubs have been asked to provide ten 3D targets to the shoot that will be returned after the shoot is over.
Our club will participate in meetings to discuss the shoot, and to determine the support we will be able to provide.

FAST – Future of Archery Sports Team
Bill Lewis reported that as of now the FAST tournament planned for June 6-10 is a go. There are still a number of organizational meetings planned and a lot of coordination needed.
The FAST tournament will be a replacement for Cabela’s shoot that we supported last year. It is uncertain if we will receive any money from supporting the shoot, but we will be guaranteed that one of the 3D ranges used for the shoot will be given to our Club. There will be more news in upcoming newsletters.
