Club Championship Results
Congratulations to everyone that shot in the Ahamo indoor club championship for 1999. It was a fun evening for all; there was plenty of food, and as can be seen by the scores there must have been a lot of pressure.
He may disagree, but rumor has it that Rich Stone is now the club leader in dry fires. Rumor also has it that those that shoot next to Ed have a much harder time finishing than those that don’t.
By the end of the shoot, there were 2 Club Champions, Bill Lewis and Bobbi Boze. Congratulations 1999 club Champions.

Sportsman's Quest
The Sportsman's Quest will be held in May. Bill Lewis is coordinating the event and needs lots of help. Please see the information on this later in this newsletter and help if you can.
Club Finances
The rent has been reduced for our indoor range. Many thanks go out to the owner of our Range. Our monthly rent has been reduced for a 1 year period to $300.00 to help us improve our financial position. We have been doing a good job so far this year, in attracting new members and getting some corporate sponsors. We need to continue watching our finances and increasing membership throughout the year so we are in a stronger financial position as we go in the year 2000.
3D Season is here
The first outdoor 3D tournament for Ahamo is almost here. Jack and Dustin White have been getting the range ready and have set the course up so that there will be two 20 target courses. Please come out to the next couple of workparties. On April 16 at 6:00 PM we will be at the indoor range, carrying targets out to trucks and trailers. On April 17 at 9:00 AM we will be setting up the outdoor range and doing some trimming and cutting at the outdoor range. The outdoor range is at the YMCA Camp at 245th and Q.
We are also looking for some people willing to help out during the shoot. Range captains are something new we would like to have. Some members have already volunteered, but we need more so that each captain only needs to work for part of the day. Range captains will get a sharp orange hat to wear and will walk the range during the shoot to check targets and water and give directions if needed. We also need some more help with food and with registration. Contact Jack or Dustin if you can help. Note that we also need some deserts brought to the shoot on Sunday the 18th.
Ahamo Bow Raffle:
Be sure to continue selling your raffle tickets for the bow we will be raffling off during our second Outdoor 3D of the year. Bring your sold tickets to Ed Rebarich before that shoot. Ed also has some more books of tickets if you need them.
Thanks go out to Dorothy Cubrich for donating that bow to the club. The bow is a Bear Compound First Strike XL bow.
Indoor Leagues
The final indoor league of the season is over. Harry Thompson and Marvin Tippery were the league champions, with Lee Pereksta and Bill Rhoades taking second and Bill Arledge taking 3rd.
Youth Programs:
Our JOAD league is still going strong on Saturdays. Watch for news of it moving outdoors later this spring. Feel free to bring your children down to join this league The league runs from 9:00 to 11:00 on Saturdays.
Women's Instructional League:
The women's instructional league is still being held on Wednesdays. If you want to attend just stop down on Wednesday night at 7:00. The league has already started, but is structured so people can join at any time.
NFAA Shooters School
The NFAA shooters school is over. Twenty Eight archers took the class and were thoroughly impressed with the teaching skills of Bernie Pellerite. Talk to some of those that took the class for some information on what was learned. The most significant thing we all learned was that almost all draw lengths needed to be shortened, and we all needed to work on how to use back tension to shoot our releases.
Sportsman's Quest If you are interested in being part of one of the biggest archery events ever hosted in the state of Nebraska, please look over the following tournament daily needs and volunteer any amount of time you can. Our weekend equipment needs are ATV’s (4), wagons/trailers (4), trimming tools, tents, campers, 12 3-D targets, target mats/targets for a novelty setup (6+), foldup tables (35+). The largest amount of volunteers will be needed for setup (Wednesday) and tear down (Sunday). Ideally, I would like a list of people who would like to volunteer their time and be able to perform any of these tasks depending on each persons situtation. SQI requires a minimum of 25 volunteers to be available during the tournament. Call me and let me know what you would like to do. Thanks.
