There is no cost, and all club members are invited to participate. Members are encouraged to bring baked goods, deer sausage, or anything else they would like to share. We hope to make it a fun evening.
There will be no awards, other than to print all scores in the newsletter, and to put the club champions names on a large plaque that will remain on display at the indoor range. The tournament will start sometime around 7:00 P.M.
Ahamo Indoor 300 Tournament Sunday, March 8
The April 5 outdoor 3D shoot was a large success. We had 110 people register, and had a lot of help at the workparties. It was our first outdoor 3D at marked distances, and we had several people say the only reason they came was because of that.
On Saturday, March 28, about 10 people walked through the outdoor range with chain saws, trimmers, and muscle power; and cleaned all fallen trees and branches from the trails and shooting areas. We also cut and removed several fallen trees from the practice area that we built for the YMCA camp last year.
On Saturday April 4, we had 23 people at the workparty to carry out targets and set up the range. Thank you to all that helped at both workparties.
May 10 Outdoor 3D
There will be a setup workparty for this shoot on Saturday May 9. The workparty will start at 10:00 at the outdoor range. Please come out and help. The clean up will begin Sunday afternoon between 3:00 and 4:00. If you can spend some time helping with food or registration on Sunday, please contact Mike Vandeman.
YMCA - Request for help
Bill Arledge said that the YMCA has asked us for help to work with their staff to teach them how to instruct archery. A date has not yet been set, but it should be sometime around May 28th. Bill said he will be helping with this and asked for club members to help him out. If you can help with this, please get in touch with Bill.

In Memory
Alex Cubrich passed away in March. Alex was one of the ‘Life’ members of the Ahamo Archery Club; an honor given to him for his long relationship with our club and for all he had done for archery over the years. Alex was one of the founding members of the Ahamo Archery Club, and is remembered by many of us who he helped get into archery, or into our club over the past many years. We miss you Alex.
Compound Bows Donated to JOAD
Our JOAD Children's league has received 5 compound bows donated by individuals and businesses:
- Craig Nakamoto of the Arrow Factory in Glenwood Iowa donated a bow. - James Arbogast of Superior Metal Products Inc. donated a bow - Leroy Baker of the Village Inn donated a bow. - Kit Secord and Bill Rhoades donated a bow. - Bill Arledge donated a bow.Thank you all for your generous donations; with the excellent turnout we have had so far for the league, the bows will be put to good use.
Grill needed for outdoor range
Our gas grill at the outdoor range is in dire need of repairs. Before we make the decision to repair it, we’re looking for a grill that someone may be willing to donate to the club. If you have a grill that works that you no longer need, please give one of our officers a call; Thanks.
JOAD Children's League News
On March 28th the Robinhood Bowmen of Fremont held a "Kids Tournament". It was the first tournament of this type they had held. Twenty children were registered and shot in this tournament. Five of those were from the Ahamo Junior Olympic Archery Development League. The picture above is of the members of the Ahamo League plus some of the other children at the shoot. The scores of those that shot from Ahamo follows:

Congratulations to all of the archers, and thank you to the parents for bringing them to the shoot.
Ahamo has an average of 19 to 23 kids every Thursday at leagues, with a shooting time at 6:30 and another at 7:30 for the older kids.
The kids league has great support by the parents, and we’d like to give a special thanks to Bill Arledge, Pat Pulsifer, Bill Lewis, Wendy Humm, Dick Sousa, Dave Wise and many of the parents for helping teach the young archers.
If anyone would like their child to join the league, we will be continuing it until April 30th and you can contact Bill Arledge or Pat Pulsifer for information.
If you would like to have your children participate in the JOAD program, just bring them to the indoor range at 6:30 on Thursdays.
Outdoor American Round League
Mike Stanner is planning to hold an American Round League at his house. If anyone is interested, please get a hold of Mike. The number of people he can handle is limited, so the league could be full if you wait too long.
Membership Committee
Bill asked the membership committee for a report at the April Club meeting. Bill Rhoades reported that they have only discussed contacting past members to see why they have not rejoined. Bill Arledge discussed a membership drive, but we didn’t finalize anything on this. All were reminded that our current policy is to take $10.00 off of next years dues for every new member that a member sponsors.
